Strength and Flexibility - Physical Activity Assessment

Our baseline Physical Activity, Strength and Flexibility assessment includes a standard wellness protocol.  Your information from the Body Composition Analysis weill be used to calculate an indirect measurement of your "Total Oxygen Consumption" (VO2 max)  using a timed one mile jogging protocol on a treadmill.  Additionally, you will perform dynamic floor exercises for one minute including push-ups and sit-ups as another marker of aerobic fitness and strength.  Lastly a flexibility test is done in the sitting position using a standard flexibility measurement device.

The interpretation of this information will be reviewed with you by a trained exercise physiologist and a personalized physical activity plan will be desgned for you.  Follow up with the exercise physiologists will be every three months.

Body Fat Mass Assessment

Body Composition Analysis has been around for a long time.  It is useful to aid your physician in counseling you with the best strategies to effectively lose weight and improve your cardiovascular health.  The test is usually performed with the patient standing or sitting with bare feet placed on two metal plates and the hands tightly grasping tow metal handles.   A electirc signal (not felt) is tramsitted through the body and allows an internal software program to calculate indirectly percentages of Body Fat, Lean Muscle, Free Water and Bone Density.  This data is very helpful in determining and setting goasl for health and wellness and chronic disease prevention.
